Four of our six tours in one sequence — City Tour, Sacred Valley, Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain — with a genuine rest day timed to Inti Raymi, the Inca Festival of the Sun, between the two hardest days of the trip. Machu Picchu closes it, either way you choose. Everything below is the same real pricing and the same tours you would book individually — added up, nothing bundled in.

The itinerary
Day by day.
Days 1–6 are the same whichever way you close the trip at Machu Picchu — the two paths only diverge on the final leg, laid out on its own below.
- Day 1
Arrival in Cusco
Touch down in Cusco (3,399 m) and transfer to your hotel. A welcome briefing walks you through altitude do's and don'ts before anything strenuous begins — Cusco sits higher than most first-time visitors expect, so today is intentionally light: settle in, hydrate, rest.
- Day 2
Cusco City Tour (half day)
A half-day loop through Cusco's Inca and colonial core: Qorikancha, then the hilltop complexes of Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puka Pukara and Tambomachay — your first look at the same esplanade where Inti Raymi is reenacted on Day 5.

Sacred Valley (full day)
A full day threading through the markets, terraces and salt pools of the Sacred Valley — Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and the still-working salt pans of Maras — ending at the fortress in the sky. Lower altitude than the days that follow — a good acclimatization day before Rainbow Mountain.

Humantay Lake (full day)
4,200 m. A turquoise lake in a glacial bowl. A steep morning climb from Soraypampa, framed by glacier-capped Humantay mountain. Shorter than Rainbow Mountain, but no less of an ascent.

Rest day — Inti Raymi Festival at Sacsayhuamán
No trekking today, by design. This is Inti Raymi, the Inca Festival of the Sun, the biggest date on Cusco's calendar, reenacted every year on the same Sacsayhuamán esplanade you already saw on Day 2. It sits between the two highest, hardest days of the trip on purpose — a full day with zero elevation gain.

Rainbow Mountain · Vinicunca (full day)
5,036 m. Pre-dawn. Real altitude. A demanding one-day ascent to the mineral-oxide striations of Vinicunca — the hardest day of the trip, which is exactly why the day before was a full rest day, not another travel day.

The Inca Festival of the Sun is reenacted every year on the Sacsayhuamán esplanade above Cusco — the same ground your City Tour already visited on Day 2. This package's one fixed date is built around it: Day 5 is a full rest day with zero elevation gain, sitting between Humantay Lake and Rainbow Mountain by design.
Machu Picchu
Choose your path.
Both options end at the same place. The difference is pace, comfort, and price — which is why this trip runs 8, 9 or 10 days depending on which you pick.
Option A · the budget path
By bus — 2 days / 1 night

Cusco → Ollantaytambo → over the 4,316 m Abra Málaga pass → down to Hidroeléctrica → a scenic walk along the river into Aguas Calientes for the night. Up to Machu Picchu the next morning — walking up (about 40 minutes) is the included default; the bus up is a paid optional add-on. Not a difficult walking tour — accessible for older travellers and younger children too.

Option B · the comfortable path
By train — 1 day
$320 / person
Cusco → Ollantaytambo train station → train to Aguas Calientes → bus up to Machu Picchu (paid extra — walking either way, about 40 minutes, is free) → guided time at the citadel → return the same day. The only way to make the journey part of the day rather than a transfer.

Lead time, either way: both options need at least 60 days' notice to lock in Machu Picchu entrance tickets and train/bus seats.
Travellers from Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador or Colombia — Comunidad Andina member states — may qualify for a discounted Machu Picchu entrance ticket. Ask your Cusco team when you book; the price below is the standard rate.
Optional buffer day (bus option only): San Pedro Market, souvenir shopping, free time in Cusco — no extra tour cost, and a weather/logistics cushion since the bus option already crosses an Andes mountain pass.

- Boleto Turístico — site entrance for the City Tour and Sacred Valley. Recommended: the Integral ticket, about US$39 (S/130), valid 10 days, covers both days in one purchase
- Qorikancha's own entrance — a separate, small fee paid on site
- Salinas de Maras entrance — about US$8 (S/30) per person, paid to the local community
Budget roughly an additional US$61 per person for these entrance fees, on top of the tour totals above — we don't collect or intermediate them.
Prices are quoted in USD, as on every individual tour page. Cusco accommodation for the trip is not included anywhere (the one exception is the 1 night in Aguas Calientes under the bus option) — plan your own hotel or Airbnb. Flights to and from Cusco are not included.

What's included, and what isn't.
Guides, during tour hours only
A guide is with you for each day's scheduled tour hours. Between tours and on the rest day, support is your dedicated assistant, reachable by WhatsApp, phone or video call — not an in-person companion around Cusco.

This package covers tours, not where you sleep in Cusco. You'll need your own hotel or Airbnb for the nights spent in the city — the only exception anywhere in this itinerary is the 1 night in Aguas Calientes included under the Machu Picchu bus option.
No flights
Flights to and from Cusco are never included on this site, on any tour or package.
Full payment, no deposit split
Payment is made in full by payment link or bank transfer, sent by hand over WhatsApp. No cash payments are accepted for the catalog tours.
